SCURRERIA BEER & BAGEL

Genoa, Italy

2014 – 2015

The 'Scurreria Beer & Bagels' project wanted to focus on innovation of draught beer. The refrigerating room that contains the kegs of beer is on the first floor. From here, through pipes whose temperature is controlled, the beer is sent to twelve taps and two English pumps. The structure consists of six iron cylinders, anchored by a plate fixed to the ceiling.

It is a unique piece for this kind of local. The materials used are smoked oak, which is hand planed; painted and hand-brushed beech; and varnished iron, the counter top. The 5.5 metre plank of wood on which the customers lean is made out of chestnut (the whole trunk). Lamps and ceiling fixtures were custom designed and handcrafted.

The client's need was to create something innovative, based on an accurate architectural design that allowed for the exploitation of spaces. There was great satisfaction with the end result and the time frames, as well as the strength of the materials, to the extent that Archtailor was commissioned a new project.

Archtailor also dealt with corporate identity, logos as well as the website.
